1. The forests in Montenegro
- Montenegro has total surface of
1.380.940 hectares. 53,85% of this consists of forests
and woodlands (surface of 743.609 hectares). Structure
of forests and woodlands is the followng: 83,49% are
forests, 16,51% are bushing and woodlands.
- Of the total surface covered by
forests and woodlands in Montenegro, to the state-owned
forests belong 67,25% and to private forests belong
32,75%.
- The state-owned forests are divided
as follows: 81,43% are commercial forests, 15,53% are
protected forests and 3,04% are forests that belong to
National Parks. The reserves in the Montenegrin forests
are: 40,89% - conifers, 59,02% - deciduous.
- Javorak belongs to the group of
companies that cultivate a modern and ecological
attitude in doing business. We do our best to protect
the huge forest treasure that Montenegro possess and to
use in the only possible and ecologically tenable way.
2. Collaboration
- Javorak initiated the collaboration
with Danish advisers from the wood industry field and
furniture production that will last the whole 2005. this
collaboration is within TAM & BAS PROGRAMME MONTENEGRO
and under the patronage of the european Community and
the Government of Montenegro.
